Ah Summer!

A lot has happened in the last few months. We've had a wonderful summer and have been all over. Little things have meant a lot more to me having Dax around. It's so fun to watch him experience popsicles for the first time, watching the amazement in his eyes as he watches fire, tasting the goodness of smores, riding horses, watching a butterfly land and take off again, feeling the weird sensation of grass on his feet...(he's not sure he loves that feeling like I do!). Our first accomplishment this summer has been getting him to crawl. He used to just use his arms. Both at the same time...he looked like a seal. Then dad decided to shove a toy in his shirt so he couldn't touch the ground with his belly...After much dedication and trial and error from many he figured it out! He went from this..

 to this...
 To finally this!!
He learned on the grass, not loving the feel of it made him get on all fours! He's a crawling machine these days. We race down the hallway and he gets going so fast he face plants!

On to our summer... It started out with my birthday. June 17 and we celebrated at the cabin. That plastic birthday cake has been with me for most of my birthdays since I was 5! Glad it's still around all these many years later!

Mardee, Tyler's daughter, has a birthday the day after mine so we celebrated together. She was turning 8, so the 8 was hers!

Mom, Rich, Brandon, Dax and I went to the Playmill for my birthday and that cute boy to my right sang to me! When I was little I used to love to go up on stage, and I won't lie, it was still fun at 28!

We took some family pictures while we were up there with all my family.

All the grandkids! Such cuties!!

Mom and Rich worked tirelessly to get Dax to crawl!

We had so much fun up there.  We played all weekend doing all sorts of things like...

Shooting...
 Rich is the man!

Pretty sure he got a bulls eye!

And me...not so much! I just played with the guns!

 Dax loved swinging!

 Watching many horseshoe games...

And took long walks...I think we wore him right out! But we had a wonderful time in Island Park! One of my most favorite places to be!

Dax's 7 month photo shoot

My little guy at 7 months! He's a pretty photogenic kid! :)

Photo Shoots!

Oh how I love pictures! I love taking them, looking at them, and scrapbooking them--which my new favorite thing has turned into online scrapbooks i.e. Shutterfly and Mixbooks. Anyway, I really love professional photos, however, paying for the all the ones I want isn't always the easiest. So...I decided to try my hand at taking pictures and attempting to edit them. Obviously you can tell I'm amatuer, but I captured the cute little face and that's really all that matters! My little Dax is pretty good for the camera. Here's a little peek into our shoots! These are of Dax at 6 months.

My Grandpa Franks' cowboy hat.

My little camo man!

Dreaming of his football days...

He's a happy little guy always!

Getting Bigger!

I can't believe how fast time goes by. When I was pregnant, the first 6 months seemed like an eternity...now that he's here it's a blink of an eye! I love it and hate it all at the same time. I have enjoyed every minute of being a mom and spending every day with my handsome boy. He is so much fun and getting bigger every day. His first two teeth have just emerged...and he was a champ! Hardly even fussy at all. A few things Dax loves....
1--His Mom
2--His Dad
3--Story time...every day after bath time. He will sit completely still. My favorite time of day.
4--His feet rubbed
5--Bath time...he splashes all the water out of his tub multiple times in one bath.
6--Patty Cake
7--His cereal
8--His Jumper
9--Watching basketball games...I took him to Boise to watch the girls play and he sat and watched the entire 2 hour game without a peep.
10--Being wrapped up tight and snuggling!
Here's a few pictures of the last little while...
My big boy eating his cereal! He loves it....the first few times I think we had more on his face and bib than we did in his mouth! He's getting it down now and lunges for the spoon! He even tries to help me!

And he gets mad if I don't get it in fast enough!

Just a few dribbles!

Telling Dad how good this stuff is! He's gotta try it!

I just love the look on his face!

My little snow bunny sittin in the big kid's chair!

He loves to play peek-a-boo!

He is the happiest baby! I'm so lucky, I love just listening to him laugh and talk all day long.

Almost rolling over! He gets so close and those dang arms get in the way!

Christmas

We had such a wonderful Christmas. It was so fun celebrating Dax's first Christmas. We went a little crazy, but loved every minute! Our little man makes everything more fun!
The Christmas season barely started and already they're worn out! Like father, like son!
Daxton and cousin Jillian--he's only 2 days older!

Yes, we were the lucky ones to be Mary and Joseph!

Seriously Mom?! I can't even see!

Sweet little Emma with Dax. He was baby Jesus at all the family parties!

Brazen and Dax

Dax and cousin Kloee
Great Grandma Gerry and Dax, with the stocking she made him for Christmas.

Everyone needs a Snuggie!!

Dad and Dax

Opening his tool bench from Dad! Sure it says ages 3 and older, but he's almost 3!

Grandma Kris and Dax in his new Christmas PJs from her!

Dax's loot! Yep, he has no idea!

Uh, Mom, can't see....again, humiliating!

Dax's Christmas outfit from Grandma Beverly. The feet had Santa faces on them and he would stare and stare at them with a look like, " Mom, why do you feel the need to humiliate me like this?!"

Our little family! What a great year!

For Reilly! :)

So these are for Reilly, because every time she looks at the blog she asks if I'm still fourwheeling! This is our photo shoot with Shanny, my sister-in-law. It was so fun. The first picture is our joke because I'm always posing for every picture! Thanks Shanny! Enjoy Rei!

True hillbillies!

Ah He's so tough!!

My brother said it looks like we got caught makin out in the wheat! Hmm...maybe we did! :)
